We will work with K-12th grade teachers to help meet classroom needs by purchasing and collecting donated items such as school supplies, project materials, cleaning supplies, as well as paying for field trips of low-income students. We will begin with one classroom, but our goal is to have all the classes in Kindergarten through 12th grade adopted. The ability to read is a critical foundation to a successful education experience. According to a study by Donald J. Hernandez and the Annie E. Casey Foundation, “Results of a longitudinal study of nearly 4,000 students find that those who do not read proficiently by third grade are four times more likely to leave school without a diploma than proficient readers. For the worst readers, those who could not master even the basic skills by third grade, the rate is nearly six times greater.” As the world still adjusts to the new norm of the COVID era, 3P Revived, Inc. desires to partner with established organizations to help combat reading illiteracy in our youth. 3PR envisions to expand its outreach by hosting a reading program for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. This program will take place during the academic year at local schools that currently do not have a reading program in place. We will send volunteers to read to groups of children who are struggling with literacy. As well, the volunteers will assist students who need more one-on-one attention. We expect this activity to take place for 1 to 2 days per week with each reading session lasting 45 minutes. The frequency of this activity will grow over time as our first priority is the health and well-being of our children.
